GI, your helicopters fall from the sky like broken birds

They cannot see you from their airplanes, GI, they come to bomb you

  • PJ was definitely not clocking any different pay for us whether in store or on delivery back then, maybe they do now. I got paid the flat tipped rate no matter what I was doing. Car maintenance costs eat away at the tips real quick.

  • Eat, drive, burn fuel, tires, wear out the car, maintain what amounts to company transportation on your own dime, etc.

The only drivers that had it figured out at my Papa Johns' were the 3-4 "old" dudes (my age now) who had shitheap beaters they bought for a thousand bucks or less and would put zero maintenance into. They'd buy an old honda, suzuki, toyota, etc, and just do the bare minimum to keep them on the road until something broke badly enough to keep them off the road, then they'd scrap it and buy another shitheap. They were all salesmen at their day jobs and did delivery in the evenings in their beaters. Us young idiots had our cherished used cars we loved, modified, and drove delivery with. We were fools.

  • I delivered pizzas for a while and never let them "train" me to take up slack on the line. All the other drivers would do it but I refused because we weren't paid the same hourly wage as the line workers so why should I do their work?

  • If Obama had actually done some of the popular things he had promised, the political landscape would be incredibly different today. He captured a huge amount of support across the spectrum because he, like trump, was saying out loud that things weren't great and change was needed. He burned the whole thing down by being a standard ass neoliberal and disillusioned millions of people.

  • I deal with a lot of "entrepreneur" small business tyrants and they are increasingly using AI instead of hiring IT staff. The AI is always wrong but it's confident and the small business tyrants are clueless rubes, so it can cause a lot of irritation when they just paste in a giant block of text from an LLM, including the preface where the LLM is telling them how great this output is to send to us and how it's concise and to the point while getting across that the client isn't a techy person but they've covered all their bases beforehand. It's to the point where if I get any communications from a client that have the hint of LLM generation I paste in a line about LLMs not being trained on our documentation and therefore cannot be useful for this purpose and will only waste the client's time and our own.

I assume large corporations are run by very similar people who just have more resources and employees around them to tweak and adjust the outputs of the shitty LLM they use to think for them.

  • I don't need to know your worldview because I recognize your defense mechanism. Nobody who accuses dissenting opinions of being bots ever has a well thought out worldview. You know as well as the rest of us, deep down, that you're not identifying bots or paid users. You're just incapable of creating a coherent argument against people with other politics, and this is your "out" to avoid coming to grips with it.
