  • I guess that's why they put not necessarily there.

  • Nice link, that part where your scrolling while seeing the billions going up takes like forever.

I clicked the url because you read your comment saying if they gave you $1,000 that would be 0,0001% of their wealth but that would be only true if their wealth was exactly one million. But we're talking about billionaire, and if a billionaire would give you $1000 he'd give you 0,0000001% of their wealth. If they have 10 billion it would be 0,00000001% and if they have 100 billion it would be 0,000000001%. According to Forbes there are over 20 individuals with that kind of money. (https://www.forbes.com/real-time-billionaires/)

  • To counter your actual point, they might have picked her because there isn't another billionaire who gave away such a big part of their wealth at once. Bill Gates could have given away more over time, i don't know really, but her giving away so much proves even with just a few billion you can multiple your wealth in a few years. I guess that has to do with the fact any one that rich only needs like >0,01% of their wealth to fund their extremely comfortable life.

  • It represents, or at least did, the largest, most influential countries in the world during much of the cold war.

They had their positions before the cold war started, as they are the "winners" of ww2 (despite Paris was occupied by the nazis).

  • Captain, where are you? I need translation for every word except mushrooms, captured and by.

  • Dutch entry is chosen by a committee and they tend to score much higher as the UK (at least the last decade or so). So maybe just switching to a different committee would be enough. But i'm all in favour of national contests, sounds awesome.

  • If only there weren't so many anti-semites rallying behind a performance that could only be considered second-best in comparison to the superior song from Israel, Bulgaria committed fraud! /jk

  • a politically one-sided narrative.

Easy to fix, add a single sign 'nothing bad happened'. Big chance you can re-use the next time Israel is featured in an exhibition in your human rights museum.

  • Elite doesn't care, they just don't want it to cost money. Same as everybody else i suppose. Be born in the wrong place and you're fucked from day 1.

  • I'm not a fan of what human rights organisations call 'legal black holes', but to be honest i can get into italy's narrative of putting these people in Albania. I mean it's almost next door. But the UK plans to send these people half way across the globe, which is quite a difference imo. Also these places could easily end up trapping these people for life, which can get hella expensive. And i havent even mentioned how shitty these people will likely be treated.

  • Climate change fucks them too, though. But yes, they'll be richer while getting fucked.

  • You can insert an image with

And get a result like this:

  • It's worse:

Asha Sharma, Xbox CEO, ran a poll on X earlier this week, asking fans whether Microsoft should use Xbox or XBOX. The results were in favor of XBOX, and the company has now renamed its X account.

  • Nobody said the blame is on Trump alone. Xi doesn't imply it. Trump is even spinning it like the us would be way worse if it weren't for him. The people who believe it is Trumps fault aren't there, they're here lurking in the comment section. So, if you don't want to defend Trump maybe don't waste your time doing it? It's not like you could fix everything that is wrong or untrue om the internet. I've been trying and so far i haven't really gotten anything meaningful in return lol, maybe some friendly advise at most.

  • Got this message to late to export subscriptions, does anyone know of an app (using Voyager on Android atm) that stores subscriptions / other data offline / keeps a local backup?

  • Something can look like two things at the same time though, an orange can look like a small disco ball because both are round and it can also like a thick carrot because both are orange. Yet thick carrots do not look like small disco balls.

  • d wha

    Jump
  • Two don't, since monda doesn't end in "y".

  • Several are from Sri Lanka, the US and elsewhere in Europe, while others are in Vietnam and the Maldives, or linked to Iran and the UAE, according to information from Facebook's transparency tools, interviews with the content creators and other tell-tale signs on social media such as spelling and accounts they follow.

  • Rule of thumb: if you want to do something that Trump considers advisable, think twice. Guess that's what Merz did.
