  • I'm in the honeymoon stage but I've left win 11 behind earlier this week. Jump full into it I am loving pop_os... the tiling feature is a refreshing thing I didn't know I needed. I'm hooked to it already. Flatpak is something else new for me that I'm really enjoying the thought of. Really like all the seamlessness of the virtual desktops too. Pop calls them workspaces. I can send windows to another workspace. Keep selectef ones on all workspaces. I'm a devops that has been using wsl for anything I needed Linux locally for since it came out. Now that I know how to interact with Linux and my remaining Windows infrastructure at work (primarily Ad) I am full into it. The only game I've spun up on it so far was cyberpunk 2077 and it runs great on it. Got Plex going, virtual machines, docker/podman, the foss possibilities are awesome. Really enjoying freetube right now too.

  • Stremio and a debrid service is incredible. I feel like something has to go bad for debrid services soon. How they operate seems pretty unclear to me. Is it all in ram or something? I think that would pass the fixed ina tangible medium situation. Still have my audio service too. Because convenience is easier than the yo ho! Although spotube is pretty good! Just no podcasts or audiobooks.

  • Just started doing exactly this recently. Aurora fills the gaps for the stuff that I need without the play store.

  • I just installed pop!_os am I safe?

  • Yeah, I mean I get that but I think this guy just likes to talk so it's more innocent but annoying for others. He's a good guy at least. Just one or two sentences via chat or 15-20 min call for information I have to type to recall.

  • Liftoff doesn't work with beehaw right now but seems to work with other lemmy instances.

Yeah I'll probably check out the other open source lemmy apps. Sync doing the ads is a no go for me. I do really like lemmy so not sure really what I'm looking for.

  • I'm nearly 40 and my dad still does this. Drives me insane
