  • Its just a text file where I dump the name and author in (and where it was renfrenced in parenthesis, cuz I find that interesting). Books on the soviet union in a chunk there, Spain there, Korea there, stuff cowbee has asked me to epub there, and so on.

Though I am trying to use zotero to also keep track of stuff I have read.

  • He was also thrown out of Germany and seems to have understood Nazism to be a threat. As I said this quote on Dnieprostroy is interesting. Its fucking amazing he sucks.

Edit: oh wait no. Its to be expected

His report on Italian fascism is full of praise for the regime's "stability".[9] He also praises Strasser's "left wing" of NSDAP party and the Papen government's semi-dictatorship.[10] There is no hint of a warning about Nazism in the book but rather a recommendation for its success in Italy.

  • "What an interesting quote I found on wikipedia, let me go read the full book"

The first reason for Russian resistance is that this was the first time Hitler ever tackled a country with lives to waste and miles to waste. Its 200,000,000 population lived almost like animals, but most of them flourished like healthy animals on their black bread and cabbage and made sturdy fighting material. [...]

The second reason for Russian resistance is that this was the first time Hitler had ever struck an army and a generation untouched by the humanizing influence of Christianity, immune to any form of pacifism, unsoftened by Western civilization. It was the first time Hitler had ever struck an army that had been taught that all life is struggle, that to fight for the Soviet Union was the noblest thing a man or woman could do, the first time the Nazis had met a fanaticism sharper than theirs. The Bolsheviks invented totalitarian fanaticism; the Nazis only copied it.

It was the first time the Germans had come up against a people more savage than themselves. The Bolsheviks were ahead of the Nazis in pronouncing that the end justifies the means, and the oriental Russians surpassed the occidental Germans in cruelty. The Germans have known Hitlerism only since 1933 and until that time they had normal contacts with the outside world. The Russians have known nothing but Bolshevism since 1918 and from that moment on have been hermetically sealed from the outside world.

And it just continues... Wow. And it was published in 1941 too.

  • None of the English language articles I found said anything about it (which I would expect if was the case). Firefox translation of the government statement:

According to a police investigation, the five arrested persons were suspected of displaying items with inciting intent in the store and selling publications with inciting intent, including inciting others to cause hatred against the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, the judiciary and law enforcement authorities. The staff also collected a number of books involving inciting intent in the shop.

  • We finally negotiated funding from Russia, so we can re-open the comm. We have a quota of 2 russian propaganda posts a week. The quota and funding is a bit low, but they want to see that we can actually do our job.

  • I happened to know from my extension that those fields weren't used in the emoji-mart (the thingy that pops up), though I didn't know if some lemmy specific thing would need it, seems like it doesn't.
