  • Do you think entire forums are dedicated to degoogling Google Pixels because people happily brick their perfect fine phones? Yes, some Pixels were bricked during the development of GrapheneOS but many more will live longer thanks to a sleek, lightweight OS with life-extending security updates, not to mention the other advantages.

  • Both my eyes make a faint double image a few arcminutes above the original. It's apparent whenever I read white-on-black text but the brain has learnt to ignore it. It is most visible when I'm tired, squinting or refocusing. Aberration too – RGB LEDs switching from red to blue seem to shift position downward by about the same amount. Again, the effect changes magnitude while squinting. I imagine my brain must be correcting for a massive amount of blue and orange edges to make sure I don't see them everywhere but the fix doesn't work for narrow-spectrum light.

Yeah, and I have a weirdly big and dark "floatie" in addition to the normal ones, too far from the center to see well and only visible when squinting against a bright area. And part of the retina seems to freak out and flash sometimes, which gets better after a few minutes with the eye closed. Been to the doctor and they found nothing weird...

  • I signed ToS at my bank (Komerční banka, Société Générale) that stated I'm breaching the contract by "using [their services on] IT and mobile equipment with an altered OS (jailbreak, root)". I hid Magisk and they didn't detect anything. The QR scanner and NFC use Google libraries/services so they're broken but it's just an inconvenience. So unofficially, the list will be longer.

  • You can see bloom with your bare eyes. Ever tried to look inside an open window in a sunlit white wall? The inside is orders of magnitude darker and will be drowned from the bloom, not to mention your iris (aperture) will shrink. You have to make a "toy telescope" (rolled-up cardboard, fists or similar) and block the light parts to make the bloom disappear and see inside the room. So if we're judging cameras by how well they imitate eyesight, this is not a flaw.
