  • I liked working from home at first, but after so long it becomes harder and harder to leave your work at "work" when your workplace is also your home. Now I am back in the office and actually prefer it that way. I have the flexibility to work from home on weekends or when I need to be home for some reason, which is good enough for me.

  • I know I am a display tech nerd, but can people really not tell the difference? Even going from a 1440p to a 4k monitor to me was a very noticeable improvement to clarity. And there's a huge difference in the way that games look on my living room TV in 1080p compared to 4k.

They can see what IP address your machine is connecting from.   • I know it's not terrible, but there is a performance disparity there that you can't ignore. If someone is spending $1000+ on a high end GPU I think it is fair for them to expect a level of performance that's a little better than "fine".

  • Yeah I understand that things have improved a lot. But it's the 10-30% performance hit in DX12 games that keeps me from wanting to dive into Linux as my primary OS on my gaming machine. If they can get that closer to parity with Windows, I'm all-in on Linux for life.

  • Nothing really wrong with them if they offer the performance and features you want. But I am a high end user and I also use some software that's really reliant on CUDA. So they're not really winning in either the performance or the features department for my personal use.

  • I would like to take this opportunity to remind people that Trump got less than 50% of the popular vote, more than half the country wants nothing to do with him. The GOP has been playing the gerrymandering game to great effect to the degree that their candidates can lose the popular vote but still win the election.

  • I think you're a little mixed up. It is currently illegal for a regular pot smoker to own guns. The supreme court is looking at potentially getting rid of that restriction. So if they did, I think it would actually reenforce your friend's love of Trump.

  • Uniqlo cargo joggers are my jam but I don't seem them listed on their website currently, might be a seasonal thing. Their regular cargo pants are fine too, but a little bit on the baggy side. I just really like their pants in general, honestly.

  • The way the law works currently it's just a mechanism to remove gun rights from people and to tack on extra bullshit charges to anyone who happens to get caught with a little weed and also owns guns. Sincerely hope they can actually change this law because it is almost entirely used for bullshit.

  • It's the nvidia performance issues that keep me on Windows. I'd love to use an operating system that values and respects my privacy. But I'm not willing to take a large gaming performance hit to do it. That day this gets fixed I am dropping Windows and never looking back.

  • One of the biggest things keeping me from jumping into Linux as my primary OS is because of nvidia's performance issues, particularly with DX12 games on Linux. I'd be taking like a 10%-30% performance hit. I know the games will "run" but I want them to run well, that's why I spend so much money on my GPU.
