Tradition is do whatever you want and ask questions π
!politics@sh.itjust.works can be an alternative
Yes, you can definitely see posts and communities from other instances.
!communitypromo@lemmy.ca is a good place to discover active communities
Call them out on !yepowertrippinbastards@lemmy.dbzer0.com
Modlogs are public for a reason
Edit: also, your own moderation history isn't the best looking: https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/modlog?userId=3895205
Yes, I referenced it in mine!
I shared a few posts on !fedibridge@lemmy.dbzer0.com about that sub recently, so I would say yes

The mod just posted a news article
my original point about redundancy, as the instances are all hosted different places in the world, is also a positive thing.
But that's a different topic.
!fedimemes@feddit.uk posts and comments are currently replicated on probably 50 other instances. It's still the single community on that topic.
Thank you, I'm not a native English speaker either, I just edited!
The easiest way to gain more people on Lemmy is Reddit, the platforms are really close to each other.
Text-based forums are a dying breed anyway, most of the people nowadays don't use them. The few who do, are on Reddit.
Let's take the recent issue with Firefox. People are looking for an alternative, or to better understand what the risk is
Lemmy.one
Lemmy.world
Let's imagine that someone comes up with a detailed analysis of what is happening with the new ToC, and which alternative people could consider switching too. Do you think they'll go through the hassle of sharing that information to all of those threads?
Block those communities. I did a while ago, definitely recommend.
!communitypromo@lemmy.ca to find interesting communities
Preach to the choir
Interesting. I still wouldn't go by that by default (for French or German speakers, Jlai.lu or feddit.org makes more sense), but this can be useful for general recommendations.
The one potential issue is thousands of users flooding the Phtn website, but I guess that would be a nice problem to have.
Thank you for your work
The Firefox Terms of Use announcement showed once again how many there are.

I'm personally in favor of !privacy@lemmy.dbzer0.com
- fits the theme of the instance
- is not on .ml
- is not on .world
- 3 different active mods
- no power tripping noted so far
- 2nd most active community after !privacy@lemmy.ml
!privacyguides@lemmy.one admin has been quiet for a while, the instance seems to be running on auto-pilot, https://lemmy.one/c/meta has no communication from the admins since a long time
Programming.dev is still running Lemmy 0.19.5, and they had a quite severe issue of database corruption for 3 months. Thankfully, it's solved since (https://programming.dev/post/20515601)
