  • Are you sure about that? Killing off an entire tribe, enslaving the women, not a new concept in the slightest.

  • Humans are pretty horrifically violent across time. For example before the Spanish arrived there were the Aztecs who were wiping out entire tribes, enslaving them, and torturing them quite gruesomely. I'm not saying the Spanish are good guys or that the Aztecs are bad guys. I'm specifically saying humans are violent and metal as fuck essentially regardless of circumstance.

People been enslaving, genociding, torturing, raping one another long before anyone even lived in Europe.

  • All i'm saying is there's no violence that westerners have done that wasn't already done at some other time before they arrived. The difference is the distance, the scale and of course the cultural and ethnic differences. I've found that the more different the dominating group is from the victim group the more well atrocities are remembered. It's still ethnically visible for hundreds upon hundreds of years. Like for instance the Aztecs were extremely brutal in wiping out other tribes and enslavement as well as torture but no one really complains about that today. It's all a wash. Their people and the people they tormented are hard to tell apart now in contrast to people of Spanish dissent and of course to this day there's a white preference in the region. It's just easier to see and draw lines when people look more visibly different.

  • No tribes totally wiping another out before then? History is not that kind. I doubt it was a utopic land before someone else arrived.

  • Are you sure about that?

  • It's more like whatever is gonna happen is gonna happen regardless of how you feel about it so you can stress or you can chill and whatever is gonna be is gonna be regardless.

  • The oldest sale I could easily find was 1988, when it sold for $338,000 or about $956,400 today. In 1960 when it was built it likely sold for $15,000 and $22,000 so about $249,077 today. So from 1960 to 1988 it increased by 3.84x and from 1988 to now it increased by 3.16x. Wages increased by around 5.2x from 1960 to 1990 and about 2.4x from 1990 to 2025. In 1988 the house was 10.5x the average American families gross annual income. In 1960 it was 3.9x the income and today it's 36x the average American families gross annual income. I didn't really account for the area so the last part should really be done for California. Even today it's not fair to lump in the economics of somewhere like West Virginia or Mississippi with California. Either way it's probably more accurate to use the median instead of average.

  • Wouldn't the Pope's opinions on AI also apply to Chinese AI as well as western AI? Although I'm aware the catholic church has far more influence in the west than east.

  • No but it does make things easier.

  • There are more technician jobs than engineering jobs and there are more engineering jobs than primary science positions. I'm not sure that should surprise anyone. How many pure mathematicians does global society actually need? Not that many. How many farmers or civic engineers or geologist does society need? A lot more than mathematicians.

  • Pussy? Fresh hot and moist.

  • You're free to say whatever you want so long as it's what we want you to say.

  • I never said that. I was asking what that criteria would be. I so far haven't said anything about my own personal desire. Also I never specified it just being speech. It's just an open question to you individually what would be sufficient to be considered a worthwhile left leaning candidate. Honestly beyond my statement that some portion of people are always discontent and that I denounce genocide I really haven't said anything about my own personal views in any comments on this thread.

  • Toothless? Without knowing the goal how does one know in which direction to go? I haven't avoided it, I've blatantly denounced the current genocides as well as all others future or past. I don't even agree to genocides against people who would want to see a genocide again me and the people I care about.

I think more so my main point from the beginning until now is it seems some percentage of the population will always be discontent no matter what. No matter the candidate or the circumstance there will be that discussion that they are a fake or phony. Of course that lends itself well to asking what is sufficient, what's ideal, what is the goal.

  • The post did remind me of this behavior. I haven't seen a candidate (left or right) where there isn't a vocal group displeased with them, generally stating they are a fake, phony, or haven't gone far enough. If something or someone is insufficient then it's natural to ask what or who is sufficient.

  • I think I've personally already done so not just for one genocide but all the current genocides as well as any other. Now I have a sneaking suspicion that alone is still insufficient. What else do you dream of in a left representing candidate? What do you believe would be sufficient such that one doesn't really hear the argument they're a fake or phony? What is the goal exactly.

  • Which is kinda my point. Although I'm sure I'll now be downvoted for saying it.

  • My intention was to point out this eternal discontent that some people seem to have regardless of the circumstance. You said it was a denial of genocide, I disagreed. The general question at hand is what actually is sufficient. What does an ideal left candidate look like to you?
