Probably accurate although the demand for electric vehicles and hybrids isn't going anywhere and most definitely the demand for batteries isn't going anywhere. Cheap boring and rockets are definitely more niche. Low earth orbit satellite internet has been massive in less developed countries with underdeveloped infrastructure. Maybe if we had something super valuable to mine on the moon or on an asteroid we lassoed into orbit. In short probably could have played the field like most tech companies do and been fine. Check out all the AI companies not going full alt right yet doing alright with massive operating costs to revenue.
Exactly, also thanks for the knowledge. Still new-ish to the fediverse and unaware of all the differences of different locations. I could see that being valid to be public, like if someone is at 4% they're just miserable.
Kinda unfortunate honestly. If he just chilled without getting into politics and just worked on electric cars, boring machines, battery factories, rockets, and satellite internet probably would be a much more beloved figure. The whole twitter and political involvement / rigging is definitely a downhill move.
He is definitely not the first trillionair or the richest man. he is the first publicly recorded trillionair / richest man. Most keep the vast majority they have secret as fuck.
Most of that money is in Tesla stock so not much can be done with it. Maybe take out 10% to 30% of its value as a loan from banks with the stock as collateral then mostly buy some shit that will ideally appreciate in value. It's not liquid wealth so there isn't much you can do with it. $1B liquid would be far more valuable than $1T in stock evaluations.
I also said the algorithm is between your left and right ear, aka your brain. People act and react to stimulus accordingly. Downvote and upvotes psychology still exists on Lemmy.
Is it dumb or is it that you think it's dumb. To be or not to be. You see I disagree with a lot of people but I see where they are coming from so I don't think they are literally idiotic. I'm more apprehensive about living in a system where I only ever see what is agreement with whatever I think aka an echo chamber.
I upvoted you actually. Like anywhere online I've seen very negative people who get joy from others feeling bad or thinking they have made them feel bad. I always want to have a candid discussion with someone like that because it's very curious to me.
So far the people I've been able to accomplish that with are very discontent in their life or something specific in their human experience but it's a very small sample size. Most keep with shallow discussion more so like they're playing a character.
Its more so a curiosity. I've noticed others behaviors and was wondering who lives for the downvote vs who is rarely smashing the down vote. This platform kinda fundamentally runs on down and upvotes.
I'm not arguing that one shouldn't have the ability to downvote. More so asking if anyone else is generally apprehensive to downvote and more specifically enjoys opposing opinions. I find in most circumstances not just of Lemmy that people are more so looking for agreement aka an echo chamber without any dissent aka an echo chamber.
They're trying to build a prison for you and me to live in
