  • I'm guessing you haven't traveled out of the country much. If you think the US is a "nightmare" you'd be fucked in most other countries. Ever wonder why you never hear about stuff like this happening in Asian countries on world news? Because the government completely controls the news.

    China has "revenge against society" attacks all the time. It's where (typically a man) will drive his car into a crowd of school children and kill/injure like 30 of them. They do this because they're so mad at the government but aren't allowed to actually say anything critiquing the government for fear of being black bagged.

    Go to a developing nation, it will change your outlook on the American "nightmare" very quick.

  • I don't think getting bullied is a choice. I was bullied for a while until I started wresting, then I beat the shit out of three kids and the same time who continued to try to and no one said a negative word to me again.

    Ended up becoming a SpEd teacher for behavior disorder, autism, and emotionally disturbed kids. I know it's not easy, but you have to just not give a shit about what other people think besides your support group. Like close friends, family, ect. Everyone just wants to tear you down because they're unhappy so fuck them and their opinions.

  • I REALLY want to switch to a Linux distro on my main machine, but every time I'm about to I find some hitch. It might be solvable, but I seriously don't want to spend an hour looking up random commands I'll never use again or remember.

  • I don't have a problem with Islam, I know plenty of people I'd consider decent/good that are Muslim. That being said as an atheist who thinks all religions are insane, I think Islam isn't far from Christianity of 1000 years ago. Christianity used to be just as bloody and cruel, but it moved on to what we have as modern Christianity. Which isn't great, but nowhere near what it was. Islam as a whole hasn't moved on completely, which would be something akin to when the Catholic Church was in power in Europe.

    Not spreading hate, Islam isn't evil or make you evil, I just think it needs to evolve with at least a tad common sense like Christianity.

    Also despite what people on tech forums think, probably 95% of people don't even know what VLC or 7zip are and have never even heard of it. Of that 5% that have heard of it, maybe half use it.

  • So a few years ago Kohls fired most of their LP staff. Their thinking was "We still have theft, so let's save money by firing all LP and it will pay the difference of theft" SUPRISE! Theft went up 5x and now they can't hire the people back because they got new jobs. I'm sure they have the CEO a raise for that brilliant idea.
