    Fun how hard they have to work to show both that it is not a thing that is taken seriously and it is a risk. And how much easier it is when you go 'yeah, that is silly, high intelligence isn't magic'. Of course the latter stance also means there is no AI god who will resurrect the dead.

    This made me wonder/have a quick revelation. You know how those 419-scams are intentionally misspelled a bit so people who would not fall for the scam later down the line get weeded out early? What if this is why all these companies name themselves after evil artifacts, and or misuse fables, etc (I seem to recall a Hillary Clinton convention also had a 'we are gonna do ozymandias' thing, but not sure if that was real). It is to weed out the skeptics who might scare away the easier marks. What if this isn't by accident, but intentional? (Could also just be my paranoia).

  • That sucks so much. But thanks anyway everybody, my post was half shitpost, half serious. (And I know some things can't be easily converted, (but my regexp to match xhtml script is almost complete).

    I'm a bit surprised (but not totally) there actually was a proper tool for it a bit, even if it is vibe corrupted now.

    We have reached out to people at some of the major AI companies in the list below, asking them to speak at this year’s HOPE conference to start an open dialog about AI. Yet, in every case, when the representatives of the AI companies learned that their talk would not be allowed to be a mere unchallenged sales pitch, they became significantly less interested. And when they learned we would allow— and encourage— audience members to ask questions, the representatives stopped responding to us altogether. This happened with each and every company.
