  • I think there is another way to dump wase heat. Use it to warm up something that has a lot of heat capacity, and then eject that. Not practical and a huge waste (I also got this from science fiction), so you know they are going to try it. Gonna suck for us groundies.

  • Btw, im a bit afraid to ask, as I should actually have googled this first (but I'm also becoming weary of google, tried to find some code related things yday and it was giving me wild results, it used to be better at that), but is there a sort of guide on blacksky, like what does joining one of those sites imply (I think I should join the 'blacksky for non-poc' variant, at least I got that was a thing) but how well does it interact with the main bsky, how easy is it to switch, consequences for interactions/follows/followers, etc etc. Anybody have a guide on that? In an attempt to migrate away more from bsky which is making a few questionable moderation decisions. (I also know that due to how the whole system is setup, migrating doesn't actually get you away from those decisions, so I'm also asking out of curiosity, so take that into account regarding how much effort to put into my question, also means ignoring/not reacting is fine. Just shooting a shot, and trying to be clear about intentions, and my feelings re reactions).

  • I know it is a bit of elitism/priviledge on my part. But if you don't know about the existence of google translate(*), perhaps you shouldn't be doing vibe coding like this.

    E2: another edit unworthy of a full post, noticed on mobile have not checked on pc yet, but anybody else notice that in the the searchbar is prefilled with some question about AI? And I dont think that is included in the url. Is that search prefilling ai advertising? Did the subreddit do that? Reddit? Did I make a mistake? Edit: Not showing up on my pc, but that uses old reddit and adblockers. EditnrNaN: Did more digging, I see the search thing on new reddit on my browser, but it is the AI generated 'related answers' on the sidebar (the thing I complained about in the past, how bad those AI generated questions and answers are). So that is a mystery solved.

  • I dont know much about dosage numbers etc, care to mention a bit more how much is normal and how much he is off the baseline?

    (I just recall some old friends who once tried shrooms and didnt seem to notice much so they went to a disco and for one of them it hit at the middle of the dancefloor so he stood there like a statue (the guy was also tall and a metalhead, so quite a sight). And before it became illegal (some tourist got himself killed by using shrooms and drinking and they blamed the shrooms) to give others spores or something I managed to get some from someone as a promo/anarchist thing. Never did anything with them).

    (Fine if you dont want to, or if talking about it exposes you/others to risk etc, dont. Just curious).

  • Certainly. Some might want to take his service however, not going to speak for them. But doubt he would be a good client, nor that he would pass the vibe check for any who didn't already knew who he was. So not sure if he is even able (also doubt he is mentally able as he sees women too much as objects to he saved/protected vs actual people).

    But yes sorry if that came off as offloading societies problems on sex workers.

    As a confession, I did that once, made up a fictional thing. The page lived for quite a long time. Untill somebody outside of my circle saw the orphaned page and promptly (and rightfully) deleted it. Was 20 years ago or so however.

    It was so orphaned it didnt even get indexed by search engines.

  • We were reading through various classics for bookclub and we noticed how many books had a ~14 year old girl has romantic/sexual relationship/gets abused by 30+ year old man. Snow Crash was one of those. I know popular thinking on this has changed a lot the past 20+ years but still always a shock, esp when you realize how much you didnt notice it.

    Also a reason why the first evil dead aged very badly. Dont show that to people without warning them unless you want them to leaf.

  • One of the things that really weirds me out about gamers is that when they pay 10 bucks for a game they become the most entitled people around (not talking about the people here, just in general, my comments here about steam should also be seen as that), but they never are as entitled towards steam which takes a 30% bite out of that ten bucks for every purchase (*). Even when steam is like all tech companies simply a non-communicative and hard to contact monster of a company. Im still amazed for example that one of my games on my wishlist is simply a grayed out void. (I know what happened and which game it was, a developer who released a game on steam told me how to figure it out, still odd steam didnt tell us why it was removed. Same with the misery debacle (dont get me wrong steam defenders, the dev(s) were at fault there, but steam could have be more upfront about it (they included stalker 2 assets I heard) but it is a similar sort of dmca shit like what is plaguing YouTube).

    *: I dont actually know if keys bought from key resellers like humble bundle for example replace that 30% or if they take another bite, replacing it would explain why humble can sell so many keys at 20% off. Not that I dont have a separate rant about humble (which I suspect will not live very long anymore, as it has been acting weird).

  • That they are a bad publisher, don't provide good feedback, their tools on the developer sides suck (the stories I heard from people who have released things), they don't help out smaller developers out at all, the 30% fee if you are small less fee if you are big thing is silly, that they are opaque as fuck when dealing with them, their moderation sucks (see how long it took them to do anything about review bombing for example), etc etc.

  • From what I heard they dropped that shit, steam still dropped them and didn't mentioned why, that isn't bad faith, nobody was saying it wasn't an edgy game, and the devs didn't hide that. (E: in fact their own faq openly mentions this. So no idea where you got the bad faith thing from, if you didnt think this up yourself but got it from some drama content creator you might want tl wonder if they are in bad faith).

    You confused me complaining about the process with steam with me talking about the content of the game.

    I mean lets not forget there are several sex with hitler games on steam.
