Senior Chief Petty Officer. Starfleet is in my blood, and I've spent my entire adult life in service to boldly going.

Keiko and Molly are my favorite humans, but Transporter Room 3 will always be my favorite.

Just don't ask who what's in the pattern buffer.

  • Also is it really a good time to tell Americans that they need to be disarmed when the vast majority of us are having a hard time with a fascist federal government and police forces who refuse to do their job?

This is my biggest issue with anyone preaching gun bans and the like.

I am actively encouraging my lgbtq+ and other minority friends to arm and train, and have had a few over to my personal range (basically my back yard in the country with a big dirt hill surrounding a couple steel plates) to practice with because they don't feel comfortable going to public ranges. (deep red country and likely to encounter bigots with guns and bad attitudes)

Armed minorities are harder to oppress.

  • every 4 years

Yeah, totally weren't talking about the US. Sure buddy.

  • If I'm searching for it, I limit searches to before 2024.

If I'm browsing a recipe site, I ignore recipes posted after 2024.

Im sure I'm missing a lot of good stuff, but I don't always know enough about cooking to know just by looking at the recipe that it doesn't work.

  • Hilarious that you immediately jump to "America bad" with absolutely no indication of where the poster is from.

Yes, America bad, but that's a huge whataboutism

  • So, basically everything?

Politicians can be bought out for embarrassingly low sums.

  • Some AAA game company releases a big-budget title that turns out to be a complete buggy mess (like MindsEye)

[FREE SPACE] contenders in here, but I like this one the best. The next one is a very close second.

  • Most of the "500+" will simply ignore their legal requirements and eat the fine.

    But some won't.

So it's better than continuing to do nothing, it's at least vocally (legally) saying they aren't cool with it.

  • Here's how it's gonna go:

    Government of california: "delete this"

    Company: no

Gov: okay well here's a fine for $200 million, don't do it again

Company: that's fine, we made $1.8 billion with the data, this is just the cost of doing business

repeats next year but with a sternly worded letter

Prove me wrong, California. Break companies out of existence when they break the law. Don't just slap them on the wrist with a fine.

  • I got an email like this a few weeks ago, and then about 2 minutes later I got a new email with the corrected replacements.

I replied with a screenshot zoomed in on the "candidate name" bit and left it at that. Didn't even get a half-assed "lol sorry Bruh"

  • Yeah, they should toss it in a landfill like everyone else! Fucking posers, trying to do literally anything with stuff that isn't easily recycled or reused...

  • I wish my wife could play subnautica with me, as she likes swimming around and stuff but isn't really "good" at video games, since she never played one until adulthood.

In Minecraft it's mostly me doing the work while she does farming stuff. I once came back from a deep mining trip to see a once-empty field filled to the maximum with cows. We had a nice library afterward though.

I still haven't beaten subnautica without cheating or taking shortcuts. Heck when I first downloaded it, it didn't even have an ending yet.

    9.3/10, it's fun

  • Maybe he's dead?

Or more likely it just hasn't been shoved in his face while he watches TV or "plays golf"

    Hopefully that first one though.

  • I know my vehicle's limits, other drivers do not.

The second I stopped to think about that for a second when I got my license, I realized that goes for other people too.

Just because the combination of my vehicle and driving could have gotten through that gap, doesn't mean yours can.

So I'll wait, just please actually go when the light changes and you're 3 car lengths into the intersection...

  • We also didn't need multiple movies with Russians as the bad guys, yet here we are.

  • Look at those soulless, lifeless eyes.

    Black eyes...

    Like a dolls eyes...

  • They were already doing so, and this wouldn't excuse anything Russians have been doing even if Ukraine had bombed the fuck out of the place.

It's definitely a false flag (in my opinion, not actual confirmation by anyone as far as I'm aware), but not a very good one.

  • Well, putin orchestrated apartment bombings decades ago, so this isn't too much of a stretch.

I guess he didn't actually want to damage it though, since locals say nothing happened. You'd think he'd at least set off a grenade in the front lawn to make it more convincing.

  • Doesn’t targeting individuals for political purposes during a war break a bunch of international agreements or at least come close?

I'm not sure. That said, I don't consider "ending a war" to be a political purpose, but if the "rules" of war say you aren't allowed to take out the leadership, then the rules are "only the poor have to die" and fuck that classist bullshit..

And while your enemy being Warcrimes-R-Us doesn't excuse your own war crimes, I think if your enemy is trying to genocide you, then you are within your rights to fight however you need to in order to not be genocided.

  • corporations not knowing what fair use is

pretending to not know. They're fully capable of understanding when it helps them make money.
