Yea, the owl in the picture seems content. It just made me remember the owl I saw while on vacation. And I’d still want to pet that fluffy cutie even though I know I shouldn’t.
Considering that the slightest amount of some chemicals or temperature shifts can alter personalities dramatically, I kind of lean to ”Pet sematary” horror for the kind of mammals that undergo this procedure.
When I was in Bulgaria, there was an ”owl handler” doing short ”shows” in various outdoor restaurants, and let people put on those huge gloves to let the owl sit on their arm for a short while. Broke my heart, the owl was so stressed.
Beautiful birds irregardless, and this photo is such a beautiful thing to gaze upon amidst all the chaos around. One of many small mindfulness moments I am privileged to get a small grab of daily. Thank you!
So much sheared wool gets discarded, burned or used for landfills nowadays, there are too few commercial buyers. And hobbyists are too few and far between.
Same. Every major corona infection I suffered has set off my immune system for months, leading to debilitating nerve and joint pain. Even some vaccinations trigger this, but with shorter and way less symptoms, modern vaccines are way better than what they prevent. So I have high hopes.
Countries aren’t just ”not willing”, they can’t. And the country that did has had their oil shipments diverted and stolen, until the oil was just point blank stolen.
Some important work doesn’t cease to be important even when other huge crises arise. I am so impressed with all people who help others. My volunteering has mainly been with cats and scouts, as those are the areas where I can be of help outside of my own work and family, but I enjoy seeing how others can help and support other creatures in need.
Lithium orotate is a supplement, no longer one of the forms of lithium used for bipolar disorder. I had a relative who took lithium orotate daily and still developed Alzheimer's.
