Enjoying the great vista of the Fedisphere.

  • The possibility of a remote off-switch makes me worry a bit.

  • "Since nearly 80% of the population uses cars to get to work and their important medical appointments, we are taking a closer look at federal guidance to ensure American families have the infrastructure they need," the spokesperson said. "This is a common sense approach despite the Left's belief that everyone should ride a bike to their shoebox-sized apartment to eat crickets to achieve a phony climate agenda."

Sounds like a seven year old school yard bully.

  • It’s saddening that they’re running a deficit. I’m not entirely sure if that is the case for all school districts in the US, but I’ve read that the schools are funded not by the cities or states, but by the residents in each district? To me that seems cruel.

When reading the article/press release, it also mentioned that they aim to provide food for low income students even at home?

  • It is honestly weird and saddening that school children have to go hungry during the day if their parents can’t afford lunch money or packed lunches for school. School lunches are also pedagogical.

Positive with universal school meals in Seattle. I hope they manage to push through.

  • Looks just like a cat ”teenager” out to play outside for the first time

  • Looks like an intense sculpture of wood. Lovely.

  • Rainbows end.

  • Pats, hugs and smooches.

  • Creepy, had to visit the US for business reasons and happy that I at least wasn’t in the MI area.

Edit: wouldn’t have touched the US with a ten mile pole during this shit stain and fascist government, just had to because of work.

  • What area?

  • I cannot in any way see this as a net positive. Sure, kids are distracted from sleep, they view media that is damaging and shitty, they get dopamine levels fucked up. But for some teenagers, especially at 15-18, that is also their only way to communicate and cope with abuse and maliciously bad parenting, or bad early relationships.

Me, at that age, had digital ”social” communication as a vent. I don’t know if I’d still be here without it.

  • That’s even more clever!

  • I’m going to call it that from now on. I wonder what I am going to call it the next time I get cockatiels…

  • Reminds me of the time I briefly fostered an older male cat. Scruffy and judging.

  • What is it called when there’s an owl in a towel burrito. For cats it’s purrito, so for owls… ”hootito”?

  • And his paler shadow is very impressive as well. A true shadow master!

  • I know most people would shudder at me saying this, but…

    They’re so adorable!

  • Omg, thank you! TIL. Wonderful videos!

  • In Sweden (where food is generally more expensive than in the US) we have several options. One food blogger launched a series called ”Portionen under tian” (Meal portion under 10 SEK/$1) which got so popular that she got to write several recipe books from it. We (or at least the people I hang around with) also use thrifty options like “Karma” and “Too good to go” which can stretch healthy meals for a family of three - four for almost a whole week (given that the kids eat lunch at school) for under 300 SEK/$30, and not be the same food every day.

Others in this thread have commented that the very cooking shows you’re asking about already exist.
