Kale if we can count his cut dialog about the history of the nomadic merchants.
Otherwise Diallos. He lost his maiden, he joined the wrong gang, he lost his brother (to that same gang!), and finally redeems himself to save Jarburg. One of the few quests with closure. Insert “Fire Spur Me” gesture 💪
If you take the direct route via Dectus lift you will miss her unless you take that particular route to Volcano Manor.
If you climb the precipice, she’s in line of sight when you approach the grace… but still easily missable if you’re panic feeing to the grace from the Lansseax ambush.
Tangentially, I once thought Goldmask’s hat was a pvp reward because I only ever saw invaders wear it. I never saw him the first time I played haha.
If you take the warp gate to Caelid, yet are too dumb to realize that Gurranq is INSIDE the building (I didn’t notice the door right behind me) and not the giant Gargoyle out front…
Well in that case you will walk back to Limgrave and stumble upon Millicent about half way there. Easy peasy lol
Just looking down every time and thinking “can I go there?” felt great.
Start going down a random well in Leyndell, follow down into Subterranean Shunning Grounds, past the hidden wall in the Cathedral of the Forsaken, past the hidden wall in the Frenzied Flame Proscription, down into Deeproot Depths and the Nameless Eternal City, ride the stone coffin to Ansel River Main and finally get a glimpse the Lake of Rot which restarts the cycle 👌
These can be true statements from players with different engagement levels.
If you only do the content you stumble across toward the end, it may well feel boundless.
But if you cleared every annoying catacomb, every gaol, etc then you start to see the seams and artifice.
I guess the boss funneling is accurate, because the entry toward the Morgott bottleneck is technically a funnel.
In fairness I adore the bosses because they made me level up as a player and now Consort Radahn is my absolute favorite boss to spank.
The real universal praise should be for the jump button 🙏
