  • If voting mattered they wouldn't let you do it.

Too many people have too much power and control over the system. We just have the illusion of influence.

Petitions are the perfect example, it gives people the illusion that they're having an effect. But in reality, when those 10k petitions are hit, it's up to the houses discretion whether they even want to talk about it.

  • Yea I'm all for it.

It's a toxic place full of political propaganda and dangerous mechanics designed to hack their dopamine systems.

Is it the best option? No. Digital literacy about the effects of spending time online, and being taught what it is they're actually giving their attention would be best.

But this will have to do for now.

If this doesn't happen, we're going to have a whole generation of people who never learnt to think for themselves, have absolutely no impulse control whatsoever and who knows what else.

The ways they find around it, again, are good - because they'll probably be free from agendas by other state actors and profit at their expense.

  • I'm gonna be perfectly honest, I didn't think ANY Americans could afford healthcare.

I hope somebody liberates that country. I feel sorry for poor everyday Americans. It's like north Korea.

  • I don't care. I'm here for a few short years. I'm going to choose to enjoy the good things in life instead of moaning. Like a cold glass of water on a hot day, or a piece of cheese.

  • As long as you know that Finviz sells a story, and not the truth then that's good.

The stock market is a casino, and the house always wins

  • I'm all for it. The internet is unregulated, and it has a direct impact on people's consciousness, it dictates what they think about.

Therefore, our minds, our emotions, our impulses and intentions are also unregulated.

My only concern is that this is a rather lazy approach when all it took was good digital literacy.

Edit: reading that back I'm putting over the wrong message. Our minds shouldn't be regulated directly, what should be regulated is those who have the power to influence them. Otherwise, we're no more free than if our minds were regulated.

  • 'MURICA!

I genuinely feel so blessed I don't live in that country.

  • Would this be garrooms? Or, backfields?

  • Just remember this guy is a scapegoat. The real evil dudes got away Scot free... As they always do

  • Only in America

  • Yea we know. That's why we're here and not on Reddit

  • Okay, thanks for the negativity. Anybody know any ethical sneaker designers to balance this out?

  • Then don't.

Sit in it, ask it questions, find out what it's all about.

9 times out of 10, it's just your inner child who's been neglected and misunderstood. Once you take the time to give love to your inner less developed psyche, you'll not need to find escapism.

Because there will be no pain to escape from.

    Love yourself, you deserve it.

And just to get you started... Let me open the door for you:

  • We don't talk about that place here. We're better than that.

  • Makes sense. If an adult hits a kid to get a desired outcome, then the kid is going to learn to hit others to get a desired outcome.

  • You are what you think about, and if you don't control your thoughts, they control you.

  • My glass is half full

  • You're correct. So we fight fire with fire. Spread happiness, reason, and wellbeing.

In the face of all the negativity and hate, we must bare it with a smile. That is our greatest weapon.
