At my current job, I'm the only one doing any sort of programming work. I basically am the "tech solutions" guy and although we do have an IT department. The work we do is bastly different.

So this is a great oportunity for me to present open source software and, while my current company is a deeply entrenched windows user, I have been able to convince colleages and my boss that sometimes straying from it has lots of benefits (specially in the wallet department).

Without further ado, here are the open source projects I managed to implement onto my fully windows company:

• A ubuntu LTS web server: One of the bigger projects I was tasked with was making an internal utilities website. As linux is king in the web world it was fairly easy to get this setup approbed and as an added bonus I got to implement a fairly similar '0 downtime' setup I saw showcased on youtube. Using industry standard tools like docker or git and some good ol' bash.

The latest massive youtube sponsor seems to be data broker removal services. As a rule of thumb is if I see the same sponsor more than 3 times it's just a scam.

But as I've recently become assaulted with scam calls due to trying to find a different job the prospect of services like these seem to be more and more enticing.

What do you all think? Is actually a service?

This baby has around 512MB of Ram, 1.6 GHZ Intel Atom.

This is my first time doing something with hardware older than myself so I'd love some insight from people around.

I've a cronjob that I don't want to be concurrent but it needs to leave a long-running process after it does it's job that I set up with a nohup command.

The deal is that once the script has setup the lock doesn't get released so any further calls to the script just get ignored.

Is there a better alternative/flag I'd use? I couldn't discern much from the flock or nohup man pages.

Solved: With bit more fiddling found the - u flag on the flock man page. You can unlock yourself at the very end of the script.

I constantly see that the current US Supreme Court makes inconstitucional rulings like for example, allowing racial profiling.

For what little I've gathered due to separation of powers. The supreme court is just a designated authority. Why hasn't there been any movement that just aims to de-legitimize the current supreme Court?

Why can't a judge say "I denounce the Supreme courts authority for their failing to uphold the spirit of the law and now I shall follow this other courts rulings"?

This happened to me irl. They ask me to mess a bit with tarot cards and as they're leaving they tell me "You'd go think about stuff before go you out dating. All men are predators". When I ask them that sounds incredibly prejudiced they just respond with "It's in the studies". I was perfectly fine when feminism meant egalitarianism but thats is oughtright stupid vitriol that's gonna help noone.

I personally really hate the fact that they're charging me more and then they're asking me to put my credit card info onto another service that can stealth charge me.

Everything looks so boxy. I like the phantoms looks and I wanna keep that style around. Any recommendations? I don't mind checking out different brands. Any recommendations are appreciated!

I just finished playing Triangle strategy and sometimes that games writing gets so good but feel what the very characters are feeling. What about you? What have been those games that have gripped your hand and made you feel every turn of the page?
