  • Why does Satan always procrastinate on calling hoods soldiers home.

  • Education, fostering a culture of learning, merciles ridicule of any of that would reject it. There was a time that anyone screaming about the water turning the freaking frogs gay. Would only be seen standing on street corners smeared in their own shit as everyone shunned them. Not as an influential leader outside of small religious cults. You can never do away with them completely. But as a society we used to do much better about it. Boomers normalized it, us gen-x tolerated it, and it became a fact of life for millennials. Hopefully the Zoomers will finally start the push back the other direction. And those of us that are sane in the previous generations can show solidarity and support more than in that.

  • Yep, anyone who rails against education as an enemy is definitionally not a good person or group. Here in the United States that has been conservatives for the past nearly 60 years, and this is all been normal.

  • Such sites existing are not the problem. The problem is the cultures that accept and even Foster such sites. Authoritarian ideologies, leninist or fascist. They rely on conspiracy-minded dogmatic rhetoric and propaganda to keep us divided and fighting.

  • It's your vote. And honestly, presidential elections are meaningless beyond keeping Republicans out currently.

I would much rather see AOC or Mamdami focus on helping to build other state legislatures up as allies. That would be the best way to actually get things done. So much effort is wasted on the presidency. And not spent in the legislature, which is where the fascists have gotten most of their victories from.

  • The addition of vulkan can't be overstated. It blew several bottlenecks wide open. And I really need to get in to nodes. Lol but every new release brings newer better ones and I seem to keep falling further and further behind. Cgmatter is always showing off beta ones and I'm all like ooooh I can't wait till that's out. Then it is and the cycle starts again.

  • To them the facts never mattered. Just their feelings. So it's plenty in script for them.

  • Yup. Ottowae/Wyandotte descendant here. When I was young I used to hear my grandmother mention "Indian school". Always in passing and never elaborated on. As a child it was something I never thought much of. There's all sorts of schools out there. Religious and otherwise. I assumed it reference schools run by or on the reservations. Heh, nope. She passed long before I understood or ever thought to ask unfortunately.

  • Oh absolutely. I've already run it for years with a mixed hodgepodge of zigbee Z-Wave and Wi-Fi devices. The problem is that many still phone home to somewhere. I definitely want to get everything down to matter and threads on my local ha as much as possible.

Was looking at good options the other day for a thread border router. My father was an ESP based option. Though not the ubiquitous cheat esp32s

  • Push back would have unfortunately been performative. For decades national Democrats and their supporters have been hyperfocused on the presidency. Ceding many lower offices to Republican fascists without a fight. Democrats haven't held a solid legislative/judicial majority in nearly 50 years. Republicans have. Which has allowed them to neuter and negate everything Democrats have tried. Which wasn't much.

While I would have liked to have seen Obama speak out more. The fact that he would have only been speaking out with nothing being done wouldn't have been that positive for them and cost them a lot of political Capital they could use for other things. And indeed, in 2028 if Democrats somehow managed to win the presidency again. Without having a solid control of the legislature etc. It will be the same as them not winning. They really need to start focusing on the state level heavily. And winning back areas they've long since given up on. Only then will they be able to do more than just removed and whine.

  • Doesn't want? Or doesn't need? Auto coup incoming in 3 years?

  • Google has always harvested data. Which I'm generally not a fan of and try to keep as much of it as private as I can. But this whole Gemini thing is egregious. The one and only thing I ever use Google Assistant for his voice commands for home automation. I really need to set up the built-in one for home assistant etc. And Gemini has been absolutely fail-tastic when it comes to taking over those duties. I've had to disable it on a number of family devices which suddenly stopped being able to work with a few of the smart home devices around the house.

Going forward I'm heavily investing in matter/threads. The day I can have everything handled locally and not need to rely on proprietary constantly enshitifying bullshit. That will be a great day indeed.

  • Yeah, as long as you don't engage in current world events there. You will likely not bounce of the alternate reality bubble they're trying to build. And even then the majority of the most toxic ones on the instance or off the instance. Are a rather small slice. They just unfortunately happen to be in charge of most of it so they have an outsized impact.

  • Okay, and? Because he died more than 20 years before the Revolution. Does that mean that Lenin was somehow not aware of him or the ideas he put forth? And came up with identical concepts on his own? How is this supposed to work, or what are you implying?

  • Engles directly informed Lenin's authoritarian oppression. How can one belong there and not the other? Marx definitely doesn't belong.

  • Money will definitely present an obstacle. But the fact mamdami is the parties candidate carries plenty weight itself. Outside the primaries people are largely clueless. Name recognition will count for something. Though I don't think Cuomo's is that good. IIRC he's dirtied of plenty. So hopefully party recognition will outweigh.

  • Fair enough. Though in 50 years of watching this I don't think I've ever seen it used that way? Definitionally. In a Democratic primary for the Democratic party. Everyone is blue no matter who. Now the establishment definitely loathes being challenged. Which is all more reason to do it.

Blue no matter who generally only means anything in the general. All the better now that actual people can use it against the party establishment for once. And I would argue that any member of the establishment or New York Democratic party leadership who would vote for anyone other than the parties candidate, mondami. Should be ousted from leadership. Any leadership that doesn't have the courage of conviction for the Party's candidate. Certainly doesn't represent that party.

  • They aren't one of the names I generally associate with that group. So you are probably right.

  • Is it almost exclusively applied to establishments Dems because that's who runs the most often? Or is there some real different dichotomy? Don't get me wrong Cuomo can go fuck himself with a sideways baseball bat. Wanting to have it both ways he's going to fight for the worst possible outcome.

Plenty of genuine people got a lot of venom and vitrial in 2024 calling for solidarity against the fascists. And still do. From many of the people posting lower down below this article. Though not OP. I don't recall them being part of that group. But blue no matter who cuts both ways. And this time Como ain't the blue candidate and should really sit the fuck out and take the clue. This time people will actually be able to vote blue no matter who and hopefully feel good about it for once. Since it isn't Como or Adams.

  • Oh. Well there are a number posting here that aren't doing it as a bit. But as long as Quomo gets fucked I don't care.
