  • I think part of the problem with this style of show is that they'll write a new menus or drink specials that doesn't lean into the strengths (if any) of the staff or take into account what people in the local area like to eat/drink. They just do stuff that's interesting for TV. Plus sometimes the work culture is the real culprit and you can almost never change that without mass firings and if the owners the problem....

  • They sent ships to provide assistance or rescue if necessary, not to actually protect them from violence or abduction. Basically, they only promised to help someone if their ship sinks and the Italians only did that much to calm striking workers. All optics, no substance.
