  • "They" are not.

It's just one dude and that's not going anywhere. It would require agreement of not only New Mexico (which is a non starter) and the federal government, which is equally not going to happen.

  • If Texas became it's own nation, it would probably become a cross between Russia and Switzerland. It would quickly develop a highly centralized oligarchy, basically operating off of oil and gas exports, while still having good relationships with it's larger neighbors and have beneficial tax policies.

It would become a great safe place for super rich people to hide money while it's actual population declines economically.

  • They look at you like that because they know, right now, you are young and feel invincible. And you practically are.

But they know that you won't be forever. And they know that you are missing an opportunity to prepare for the second half of your life because you are living to the fullest now.

And they know that it's your choice to make.

  • The crash is going to be rough.

  • Exactly, if this really all ended now then we all practically got off easy. (Including the Iranian people compared to how bad it could get.)

  • Honestly, of all the bad possible outcomes of this war. Losing this way is the least bad.

  • Americans honestly don't even consider this our war.

This is Trump's war. America didn't lose this war. Trump lost Trump's war.

  • Oh. That's a shame.

    Anyway....

  • I wouldn't mind if your drug dealer didn't sell drugs to kids.

  • TSA the agency can be shut down. But the employees should be able to feed their kids.

  • No Day? Or no no kings day?

  • If, one day, it's you facing charges for a very very bad accident, you are going to be really happy that courts aren't a blood thirsty as you are.

  • Linux Community: It's Free Software. You can do what you want!

Also Linux community: BUT NOT THAT!

  • You are going to get downvoted to hell on this platform, but you aren't wrong. You aren't alone though. There are at least two of us that can think rationally about this.

The anti-California age law reaction in tech-bro internet circles is really irrational.

  • Well, very possibly.

That's actually a funny consequence I hadn't thought of. A media company could go to a pirating site and then file a police report claiming neglect of child protections. That could really start to spiral quick...

  • Yes, it was negligent. Absolutely. Yes driving a motor vehicle comes with responsibility. Absolutely. Which is why the judge took away her driver's license.

Sue her in civil court. This isn't deserving of a life sentence.

I swear. Progressives can be the most bloodthirsty people.

  • First time offense. Clearly an accident. No intentionality. Exhibited remorse for the actions.

This isn't a shockingly low sentence. It's completely normal. It's a tragedy, but sentencing her to life in prison isn't going to bring the family back.

The estate can still sue her in civil court.
