Is this true? I’m not sure why anyone would lie about such a thing, but, still… is it true?
According to the wikipedia page for isoamyl acetate, it is both responsible for the banana smell and is the chemical honey bees use to tell other bees to sting, so at least the logic for the post is sound.
Yeah. There was a restaurant near me that had a hive in their ceiling, and the whole store smelled like banana
I’m not sure that I would classify that as “proof”. In my life, I have patronized many restaurants that had beehives present, none of which smelled like bananas.
I’m not saying you’re wrong, I’m just saying that I would like to see some evidence that’s a little bit more substantial/conclusive.

I searched it and the consensus is an astounding yes, this is somewhat true. Here’s an interesting article from a guy (take it with a grain of isoamyl acetate) that suggests it’s not as bad to eat bananas around bees. 🍌🐝 🍌 🐝
