proselytizing rule
Could we add a rule to this community against posts that are clearly just using the form of a question for proselytizing?

Kind of ironic to make a post recruiting people to join your cause against proselytizing tho...
That did occur to me, but it such a rule were instituted and my post therefore deleted, I would be delighted.
It's one account that has a very good chance of being a troll...
Which, if that's what's going on, you're actively feeding...
Just block them, like I did after their very first post.
Downvote, report spam, and have a nice day.
In case anyone else had no idea what that word is as well:
proselytize verb
Either way, I don't think a rule would be needed, I haden't really even realized there was an issue with it.
Well there's been a number of such posts lately, and I was surprised when I checked the rules and there seemed to be nothing that covered it.
In Lemmy Today (the instance out of Oregon), I think what OP is talking about fits under Rule 1 (and that's the same with .ml).
Like which posts, for instance?
Probably everything by this account
All proselytizing or just the religious kind?
All. Part of what bothers me is the dishonesty of phrasing it as a question. It strikes me as counter to the spirit of asklemmy, if the question isn't actually honestly seeking an answer. I'd be happy with a rule along those lines instead.
I agree. One thing that bugs me about lemmy is how intellectually dishonest and blind people are when it comes to their own biases.
For a second I thought this was a 196 post and was wondering "where is it? Where is the proselytizing shitpost?"
It's a form of bad faith. IDK if there's a rule against that, though.
Those kinds of posts stopped bothering me after I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. You should try it.
The posts have 100 down votes each. We don't need a rule tbh.
