My Patched Pants [Rule]

Yes I patched them myself

Yes I know the patches stick out

And yes I do wear them out and about

EDIT: The back also has a few patches for those curious.

Very cute space-y fabric choice!
- I def struggled with picking a fabric for it and I had a few starry ones to pick from too, and after stitching the first patch on I'm happy I picked this one for these pants.

The Crotch Crack is always the worst with denim... Very hard to fix up, too, impressed you even managed to get a patch in there that well!
- NGL it wasn't an easy place to patch for sure
  Basically had to modify my embroidery ring (longer bolt) to be able to crank it down enough to hold them tight enough to force the needle through the seams.
  It was a fun challenge to tackle, I highly recommend it over tossing a pair of jeans

Aesthetic decision but in your place I might add some extra "unnecessary" patches, so the real ones stick out a bit less (the back looks cool, so do the legs, it's... really just the crotch one). Very cool in any case!
- Adding more patches just for the aesthetic is something I'm thinking about doing
  Of course using a bunch of different looking fabric that has the same theme though

Nice job, they look great. In my experience, though, you either need the patch on the inside or be attentive when putting on the pants. I've got one pair I keep ripping open because I hook the patches with my feet. Yet I keep patching them on the outside because now it'd look silly to have half in and half out.
- Patches on the inside change enough of the fabric feel that I can feel where they are while wearing them, I'm probably going to go with a shashiko type thing though on the patches to secure them fully and ensure the holes I'm covering are solidly anchored in place to prevent catching.
  Currently though I'm not getting caught on the holes from the inside but the holes for these ones were much smaller than one of my other pair of pants that need some serious patching.
- I’ve found sashiko-style stitching on and maybe an inch around the patches to work really well in strengthening the patch and surrounding fabric to make that less likely.

Is it Van Gogh's Starry Night?
- Nah just some generic star field fabric, though some starry night fabric would be awesome

I'm ngl these aren't a great look
- Different strokes for different folks
  They're quite comfy though, and those patches breathe really well (partly why I didn't use denim for the patch material)
  
  Have you tried patching from the inside? That's how I've done mine and I like how it shows the original hole with the pop of color coming from within. Albeit, I was patching mid-thigh and lower so I didn't have the patch in a tighter fit area.

My partner throws out my torn clothes even though I told them I want to patch them (but then never do)

I was totally expecting something like crust pants, I like what you've done with these. I've got a few older pairs I've patched (or at least attempted to lol) with boring fabric, can't stand throwing otherwise totally fine things away.
