Idk bout you guys, but I'm not shedding a single fuckin tear for them LMAO

The problem is that the economic and legal policy is dogshit on both sides of the aisle. Less dogshit on one side, but it's not like the Democrats were ever trying to solve people's problems in the last 50 years.
I'm pretty upset about it. I really don't like seeing fields of rotting crops, and I don't want all the farms sold to mega agrocorps
It's like an idiot ignoring your warnings and losing a finger. It just doesn't feel good, and now there's blood everywhere, and they're not going to be the one cleaning it up
You're absolutely right, it DOESN'T feel good to see so many people getting fucked like this. We SHOULDN'T have to see this in our lifetimes. We're SUPPOSED to be better than this.
But in this day and age, in this absolute clusterfucked circus of a timeline, some people are just so goddamn stupid, so deeply indoctrinated, and stubborn, and hateful, and all the other things we associate with modern Republican voters, that the unfortunate truth is that trying to talk to these people, and warn them of the consequences of their actions, just doesn't work anymore. They don't wanna hear it, and should you try to tell them, they either legitimately don't understand, don't give 2 shits, actively want it, or some combo of all 3 and more.
And so the only option we have left is letting the idiot blow off his fingers with the firecrackers, while trying to contain the fallout, because at this point they simply will not learn, otherwise. It's awful, and terrible, and a nasty way to deal with it, but when the people we're trying to help and save are so adversarial towards anyone trying to help them... all you can do is wait for them to come to you.
Well said.
I think that's very true, but spite is just a toxic emotion in any context
I'm angry. I'm angry at them for making their brain dead decisions my problem. I don't have a lot of sympathy for them, I'm not very motivated to help them
But I don't enjoy their suffering, because their consequences are going to be felt by all of us. I don't really want them to suffer at all, it gives me nothing. Not even the satisfaction of being right - there was no question this would be the outcome
When they come crawling back, if they ever have a moment of rational thought, I don't want to say "I told you do". I want to say "I want what's best for everyone, including you, and what's best for everyone is you stop having opinions. Shut up and find someone smarter than you"
if the idiot in question got your fingers cut off as well as theirs, I would take some pleasure in their pain. I'm not proud of that. it's very corrosive, and it's not good for my soul. but... it quenches my anger, somewhat. :/
Who do you think is going to buy up all the farms on the cheap? This is bad for all of us
Supposedly couch boy vance himself who is said to have shares in a company for distressed business. Directly profiting.

If only there were signs 😞
Same here. No tears
My tears are for those of us who either voted against it or didn't get a choice (i.e. the rest of the world). Everyone else can use their own tears for lube while we're all fucked.
So true. I do feel for those who voted against this or didn’t get a say
How do you fall for this twice, when he continues to hype the same exact ideas that caused this exact same thing to happen to eg exact same farmers in his first term
To be fair, it was unimaginably stupid the first time too.
Yeah, funny, until the food disappears.
Then it's hilarious.
Yes, food shortages, famine, starvation, and corpo total takeovers of the food supply are fucking terrible. But humor is one way to deal with terrible situations. It's why we laugh at funerals. Black humor exists for a reason. And it's about to get fucking dark out here.
Farmers: I'll still vote for Trump every opportunity I get.
They’ll be out in great numbers, sporting their cult gear to vote for dump a third time.
I don't feel bad for those immorally underpaying and abusing the desperate and undocumented (maybe the vast majority of them?), but I kinda do for those who weren't. It's not so black and white, sometimes people are just more stupid than they are evil and fall for low level propaganda. We should strive to build a world that's a bit more foolproof, IMO.
Immigrant labor abuse depends on what you're farming. Corn and soybeans are ridiculously well automated and only need a few people to run hundreds of acres.
Anything else? Needs teams of workers, and of course those are going to be abused immigrants.
The situation echoes the 2018-2020 trade war, during which U.S. agriculture lost $26 billion, with nearly $20 billion in soybean losses alone. Soybeans accounted for 71% of agricultural losses experienced by American farmers during that earlier conflict.
Despite acknowledging that he believes Trump “loves farmers” and is “trying to do what’s right for this country,” he emphasized the need for immediate action: “We gotta make sure that we survive through these tough times.”
Friends... nothing is changing.
China's smart to redirect purchases to Brazil so aggressively. If they want to create political pressure, it's effective... But I think they underestimate political loyalty to whatever Trump's doing these days.
CCP, if you're reading this, go after the rich guys' pockets. Trust me, that will create pressure overnight.
Trump pulled this shit first time around. This is China Trade War 2.0. They had all the time in the world to think on their vote.
They don't think. They're told how to think by the billionaire propaganda machine, and by an evangelical pedophile every Sunday.
It's not even funny or ironic at this point. I feel sad these people are in our society. I feel sad that in the back of my mind there is a thought that the world would be better without them in it. This horrid thought is that our quality of life in this world could be increased by a systematic euthanization along party lines, goodbye MAGA, etc.
These are Hitler ideas, but I can't form a rebuttal against them because it feels like a legal defense for literal evil (deranged pedophile greed worshipping control freaks).
And the worst part is, the bastards count on moral, ethical people balking at doing what those selfsame bastards would love to do
I'm a little bit sad about the same thing, but I think I've gotten over it.
The thing is, these people don't want some other people to have the right to exist. That disqualifies them from having the right to exist, and so removing them from existence so that everybody else can live peacefully is okay.
Ah the paradox of tolerance.
I agree. People who break into my house at 3AM don't want me to have the right to sleep at 3AM. This qualifies them to sleep forever.
i'm not laughing.
that is food shortages for our future. not just higher prices but missing grocery items from US stores.
Thank goodness we've densified cities and increased their populations drastically, certainly nothing can go wrong with a single point of failure, people who live in cubicles with no land will just grow some weeds on their windowsill and survive that way.
Listen: That's where our food comes from.
This calls for a change of diet: eat the rich.
I'm tired of farmers holding us hostage with this rhetoric.
Now it will come from people who understand politics.
Yes, technically, because I’m guffawing so hard it physically hurts.
There are actually a lot of democrat farmers. Most of their polls get really poorly represented by being lumped in with Agriculture Industry as a whole.
Are trans-farmers a thing? Are they more than meets the eyes?
Trans farmers, Robert's in disguise.
Oh they're more than meets the eyes alright 😏
Nobody will be laughing once there's no food.
Eating the rich is the new keto diet
Have they seen the ‘Kamala was right’ memes from the libs? Those are funny. Send them those…
All the farms around me are proud MAGA and some still have their ugly flags up still. I refuse to support any of them, but my neighbors will. I don't hope for ill will since so much food will go to waste, but sometimes the only way MAGA people understand is when it hits their wallet and HARD.
First they come for the workers than the farmers.
I am going to laugh and shame every trump voter that gets fucked by his policies. Fuck em.
Yup. Been almost a decade of this shit. I've got no sympathy or understanding left.
Farmers: Good thing Daddy Trump loves me or else he'd be hurting me, my family, and the country a lot more. I better vote for him again, so he knows to be on my side next time.
I'm happy for them because they got what they voted for.
Can someone explain how Trump screwed over farmers? I work with farmers in the northern US, and it was a shorter season for some, but I don't know how Trump hurt them. Is this strictly because you think tariffs are hurting them, or is it something I missed?
It's currently affecting soybean farmers the most and it's a combination of 2 things:
The tariffs have caused China to shift their entire soybean import to Brazil entirely. China purchased 60% of our soybean export and was the biggest customer
The second biggest customer was...USAID...which drumpy also nixed (iirc I think they were another 30% or something)
I'm a farmer. I warned my neighbors. I've had two hardcore trumpers walk up to me nowon two separate occasions now and tell me to my face "you were right"
I took no victory lap when either of them admitted it. The fact they admitted it was mind-blowing in and of itself. I didnt think they could ever be broken to admit it.
My response, "we've got three more years of this bullshit".
We're all in this together. But now you fucking understand.
Honestly I don't think they actually understand. Ask them who they plan to vote for in the mid-terms.
If they truly understand then they should never utter the word Republican for the rest of their lives.
You are probably right. But from personal experience with both of the people who admitted they were wrong, the huge dose of humble pie they ate to ever admit to me, that's takes real effort. One sees it in his pocketbook. He may forget. The other sees it after a solid dozen of his employees have been deported after ice raids. He's hurting in his pocketbook and in the personal relationships he has built with his employees.
To be fair I've told these people that all farmers should be voting dem across the board, quite militantly, for years now. But guns and "Jesus" made them think I was a madman. I know and understand who's blood and sweat our tiny world is built on,and finally they are starting to understand it. I hope it is a lesson that sticks. I'll be doing my damned best to make sure it does.
These are people that have fallen for propaganda. Decades of it. They aren't bad. They are just stupid for not paying attention. We can fix that. Call it out but please don't forget your empathy. I'm having a hard enough time as it is.
They'll pull another W. Bush era "republicans got us into this mess so we're voting them back in so they have to fix it". I still can't believe how stupid Americans are.
Yeah they should have learned after his last term. There is no hope.
An optimist?
But will they vote for a Democrat next time? I hope so, but the cynic in me says fuck no they won't.
Mark my words, Democrats will make it so tempting to not vote for them.
They will find a way.
LOOOOL you think he is leaving in three years??
....the only way that piece of shit is leaving the white house is feet first
