Nah Lemmy has got bots too. I'm sure there's instances without. But any general instance with any communities around news or politics will have bots.
There's a difference between news posting bots, fun bots for running gags, etc on one side and bots posing as legitimate users on the other side.
Oh I meant specifically troll / disinformation bots in comments. Not automatic news posts or something.
And I guess it depends on what you define as a bot. Is a 50 cent army guy a bot if it's still a human copy-pasting and writing disinformation?
I was speaking about bots as a piece of software, not about bots like an insult.
The nice part is that Lemmy admins like myself can crowdsource bot bans across federated instances.
