GO SEND YOUR MAIL TODAY

dis here is rlli important. we cannot let such legislation pass.

if you live in the EU and care about your messages staying private, between you and your frens, PLEASE send a mail (or multiple mails) to your countries representatives!

we only have 2 months left, but we can still make a change!!!!

visit https://fightchatcontrol.eu/ TODAY to inform yourself and get their mail template!

WE CAN MAKE A CHANGE!

BUT WE MUST TAKE ACTION!

this is not some far off thing. if we dont do something now, we WILL have to live with constant media-checks on most platforms (including end-to-end encrypted ones).

  • Wow, Maria is not using her usual uwuspeak, this is important

    • i dun like thad word... "uwu".. yea no.... i like - genuinely nevr sad thad stff---

    • Lena, can we not do that please? Her Name is Maria now.

      • Oh, I apologize. Isn't smorty just a username though, not her real name?

        • some clients don't show display names. the web client shows them, but some mobile ones like voyager don't.

        • Well she did post a comprehensive explanation about why her Name's Maria now but as you can't change your handle (you would need to make a new one) she changed her display name to reflect it.

          • I support everyone being called whatever they want but I'm not on here super often so I didn't see the post about the name change and this client doesn't have display names. :(

      • Make people do what you say more often by assuming positive intent when it is possible.

        • I don't understand what you are trying to say.

          • "Can we not do that please?" is usually read with a passive aggressive tone, especially when you prefix it with someone's name. Instead, something like "Hey, Maria made a post about how she prefers people not refer to her as Smorty anymore. Here's a link to it." Doing it that way carries a positive intent that once informed, someone will do the right thing. I think that aligns with Maria's whimsical and positive vibes as well.

            • Oh I see. I didn't intend it to be passive aggressive just a friendly reminder which I failed hard then. Thanks for explaining:)

      • Edited the comment, love the name btw
