Washington State Braces for ‘Inevitable’ Megafire. Climate Change May Bring It Sooner.

I live in Washington and every single campsite in this state has an illegal fire pit. Even the sites above 3500 feet elevation where fires are always illegal have them.

People are selfish assholes and just don't care about anyone else. Risking burning down the entire state is worth it to them so they can have their stupid fire in the woods. It's only a matter of time before it all burns down, and when it does, it will be started by some asshole with an illegal bonfire.

They need to do more racking of their forests! /s

This is one of those things that the climate deniers are just unable to comprehend. They see "a few degrees" as nothing, but like most things in nature, a small change in the environment can radically change things. They never think of the ramifications of an abnormal amount of rain (well Texas does now) that causes flooding/mudslides. Then on the other end of the spectrum, when you don't have enough rain anymore and now you're surrounded by kindling waiting for a spark, or have places running out of water for ppl/crops/animals.
