They actually don't care about children. Look at Florida they had this billboards telling you not to sleep with your daughter. And these are supposed to be religious people. Fuck religion.

It is a mixture of two things:

1. The vast majority of republican politicians aren't idiots (rank and file republicans on the other hand...). They know that trump only benefits trump. They remember the last few elections. And they know trump stabs EVERYONE in the back eventually. So when he calls for a favor or tries to appoint them to something they don't return his calls or make up excuses. So it is really just the dumbest of the dumb and the evilest of the evil in his rolodex who he can call on (see: HH Helmseley of the WWE...)
2. He knows the epstein shit isn't going to go away so now he is normalizing sexual assault among his base.
