Gimme coal for heaven's sake!

All this expansion and only a single coal patch with >>63k<< units. 🤯

I must have hit a really cursed seed because Fulgora is screwed as well and has basically no large islands.

Well, you can always produce coal in orbit from asteroids and ship it down
- That requires Gleba science ... GLEBA!!!
  
  If my math is right it's just 3500 gleba science (before productivity)
  Ship in the other needed science and labs and research the tech quick.

Sounds like cursed seed. My only issue so far has been Aquilo. There was a single, small, quickly exhausted lithium salt field on the main island, and I'm surrounded by copious flouride and oil... but the second lithium I found was so far away I had to run a train to it.
Coal is a rare in Vulcanus, but you got dealt a particularly bad hand there.

  After the starting pocket, I had to go way TH out to these edges to find more coal. When I did, however, they were motherloads: 5M each.

Ah, had similar experience! Found coal in the farthest corner of a last small worm territory that I happened to miss for hours.
