What do you use to scan executables for viruses/malware?

Same here, the 'only' exe files I download are mods for Assetto Corsa, I'm hoping smart people would spot any malware 😬

A mix of avira and malwarebytes locally, and virustotal if I'm especially sceptical.

I'm using Linux and never really bothered scanning for viruses. Is ClamAV a good start?

ClamAV is good.
You can also run a VM.

Windows Defender and for files less than 600 megs virustotal

Windows Anti malware and Windows Firewall to block the exe from network

me too but im on linux so i can do
firejail lutris(orfirejail steamor whatever for legit stuff) and run that shit in a security container.TIL about firejail and I am excited to try it.
