Posteo through Apple Mail, nonsensical?

Hi! Just wanting to migrate from big tech and going BuyfromEU. I am trying out Posteo, which does not have an app only web interface. Since I can’t stay logged in on the web I’m using Apple Mail app as a gateway to simplify usage. To my question, is this totally counter productive to my privacy, pro-eu stance? Will apple mail collect my posteo data through the posteo now instead? Previously using outlook.

I'd say that using a Mac/iPhone is totally counterproductive for your pro-EU stance.
- Given the cost of replacing one's phone or computer, being pro-EU in terms of new purchases is far better than doing nothing at all.
  
  No one said do nothing. Apple Mail makes escaping, now or later, harder.
  Apple Mail fails to include a libre software license text file, like AGPL. We do not control it, anti-libre software.
- It depends how technical a user is, whether it's a realistic goal to move away completely from both Apple and Android smartphones. And if choosing between those two, I would choose Apple as the lesser evil.
  
  I disagree. Even for the average user being relegated to the Apple ecosystem is a worse situation than being in Google's one where you at least have a far broader choice of apps to use as an alternative to the stock ones.
  
  Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course, but to me it's a no-brainer to choose between the company that sells hardware and the company that sells users to advertisers.
  
  Apple's business includes advertisement too though. I can agree that it is not Google, but not that it is only a hardware seller.
  
  At least Android has degoogled variants.
  
  Custom ROMs are obviously the best choice but we're talking specifically about what advice to give to a non-technical user who isn't going to unlock their bootloader and flash a custom ROM, nor are they going to be able to use a linux phone or some other alternative that requires some technical know-how.
  
  Yeah, fair. Still, Graphene was very easy to install and I think that my mom would've been able to use the web installer.
  
  You can do that for them, you can show them. Apple want us to feel alone but we are not. Want to really fix privacy? Make in-person groups. Apple wants us alone. It helps Apple and Google takeover.
