It took me a while to grow into myself.

I also had that same basic experience. For a while, I did feel like I had grown into myself and would be okay.
And what happened after that?
Lots. My health really tanked and it keeps getting worse. I used to have decent financial security, but that wiped it out.
I’m okay, just not feeling like the left side of the meme anymore at all. It could be much worse though.
