what the hell is an honorary degree
It's a degree awarded by institutions to outstanding figures for achievements in a certain field.
Degree given to someone who wasn't a student. These are given all the time to singers, actors, writers etc.
Denzel Washington, for example, has honorary doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania.
Jeremy Clarkson got an honorary doctorate in engineering from Brunel University. He can barely explain how a differential works.
It's the most honorary degree... in the world!
