booly @sh.itjust.works Cigarette vending machines used to be quite common. Even today, there are some alcohol vending machines in controlled areas (some fancy hotels have 24/7 vending machines stocked with a particular brand of champagne bottles).

It was fairly nicely priced too, especially for a hotel.
