Yeah this seems like cruel and unusual treatment for the dog.
At least with average pet standards in the US, owners take pets for walks, bring pets to playdates with others, take pets to the vet regularly for check ups, etc
I don't see this story any different from Maxwell using this puppy for emotional support. There's nothing wrong with that, so long as the animals has its rights upheld. Don't think puppies can do this much in jail.

My assumption is that between epsteins 'suicide' and her arrest, she set up some sort of Deadman's switch on her blackmail, assuring that trump and the rest of them go down if she dies.
My assumption is that Trump is semi in on it- the blackmail epstei collected on the rest of the republican party is what ensured maga control / keeps them in line.
Therefore hes in a sort of mexican standoff with ghislane- her legal predicament and keeping her from being able to act is his leverage on her. he can't let her go free; then she flees, he loses control over her, and with her his leverage on the party, and shes now free to force him, and the rest of the repiblicans to do what she wants. He can't kill her, like epstein, because A, deadmans switch, and B, again, he loses leverage over the party.

To be fair this presidency is showing the flaws in our system. Too much of our society is based on "rules" not law. A president can change the rules in an agency as long as they follow the law*. Basically congress needs to step up and codify many of these rules.
*That's how it's supposed to work, but you know Trump and the Supreme Court are not great

I'm not concerned about basic comfort. That should be afforded every as rehabilitation, since she's getting out, probably sooner than later. The issue is it's not available to everyone, everyone else deals with retribution.

I read elsewhere the puppy is being trained by another inmate as a therapy animal. And that its a program that as a convict of a sex crime, is one shres banned from.
Mt understanding of these programs is that the inmates have scheduled access to the animals, not tthe animals living with them.

That’s absolutely true, but they’re also for punishment and rehabilitation. Giving her access to a puppy in my eyes is the opposite of punishment, and she ain’t getting rehabilitated. This person destroyed thousands of lives if not more including those of children. This monster deserves zero sympathy and zero pleasures. The fact that she’s in a cushy prison is disgusting and wrong. There’s no justice for the countless victims and their families.

Imagine you're building more comfortable prisons to house all the people incarcerated in the US. Who do you move to the comfy prisons first? Elderly inmates? Non-violent offenders? While all the inmates deserve better treatment, I'd prioritize those who have committed less severe crimes.

They shouldn’t be nice either. She committed real crimes and ruined the lives of dozens of women/girls. She shouldn’t get to play with puppies or touch the internet. She should be made to live the rest of her life working to apologize and make “right” whatever way possible.

Yeah I agree, I mentioned it in another comment of mine but the injustice here is the privilege that isn't being extended to other prisoners. I think it's clear that people who wrote the article and the majority of comments here don't believe that to be the injustice. They clearly think this lady should be made to suffer and that her having a dog is in of itself an injustice because it might bring her happiness. I disagree with that.
