we hope will will see some reviews by western media, with clear comparisons against AMD and Intel solutions.
So Tom's Hardware is hoping that someone with motherboard expertise will step up and test these things proper so (presumably) Tom's Hardware can report the results.

Nope.

If they can compete with AMD instead of the dying intel, sure, why not?
Are they x86 to begin whith or r they another ARM based cpu?
- It is a custom architecture somewhat related to MIPS

Is there even a reason to continue development of Loongson now that China's deep into RISCV?

  Yes, and....? Did I claim otherwise anywhere? Privacy isn't a zero sum game. You cant fully protect yourself short of ditching tech and the Internet entirely. And even then, there's already a digital footprint left behind you'll never get rid of. But you can make informed choices like not trusting Google or Microsoft to host your personal data, not buying the smart home devices, keeping data local only/host your own cloud, use Linux instead of Windows, etc.
