As many of you likely know, there was recently some drama surrounding two users on this site: @BrookeBaybee who is trans, and @Terkrockerfeller who is both trans and autistic. This post isn't about what happened between those two users, so I'm not going to get into it here, however, there is a specific bit of the fallout from that drama that I do want to get into.

One of our mods @cttm_, made two comments on Brooke's post about the situation that were out of line with what we'd expect from one of the mods here. Another user @cambria noticed this and called out what she saw as a c/ND mod dogpiling onto an autistic comrade. We are of course grateful that cambria called this out, as we were able to discuss the issue with cttm_, who was able to quickly recognize their error. cttm_ has subsequently apologized for their behavior and is helping us to work towards making sure this doesn't happen again.

However, I would like to bring issue to the fact that cambria did not contact any of the mods here in c/ND. While we're grateful that she helped to bring the issue to our attention, we were only able to find out about this because I personally just happened to see her comment in a c/userunion thread about Terk's ban, and used it to go back to Brooke's thread and find cttm_'s comments. Cambria's comment didn't name cttm_ nor did it link to the offending comments, instead only mentioning that a c/ND mod was being problematic. This left me having to sift through Brooke's thread looking for c/ND mod team usernames, adding an element of uncertainty as to what the problem was at first. With this in mind, please contact the mod team here if you have an issue with something one of us has done, both inside and outside of this comm, and make sure to be explicitly clear about who and/or what the problem is.

Please send a DM to any of these mods if you have a problem with a c/ND mod, or an issue with c/ND in general. It doesn't really matter which mod you DM since there's a good chance that all of us will see it in order to come up with a solution as a team. We'd also like to point out that we are not notified when reports are sent in, and it's hard to keep track of what mods are doing outside of this comm, so if you feel the issue is particularly serious, then a DM would help to make us aware of the problem much faster. This also applies to the site in general, so feel free to DM us if users or mods are hurting a ND comrade outside of this comm.

TL:DR: Don't subtweet. Please contact a mod if there's problem and we'll try and deal with it to the best of our abilities.
