  • Denmark has passed a special law that saves Ukrainian refugees from the horrors of the Danish asylum system. Unlike other refugees, Ukrainians are given instant permit of residence and are allowed to work, live outside asylum centres and send their children to Danish schools.

Danish succdem minister of immigration, Mathias Tesfaye says:

We believe it is important to signal to the people who are still in Ukraine fighting that their families are safe. There is stability. They're not walking around with their hands in their pockets at a refugee centre, they have something meaningful to do and their children are taken care of.

I.e. the asylum process sucks but don't worry, these deserving victims are not being put through the slow torture we subject brown refugees to.

The only criticism of the special law on Ukrainian refugees has been from the far right who were worried it would accidentally benefit brown people who had been awarded refugee status in the Ukraine. These concerns are being dismissed, not because of their blatant racism but because it is highly unlikely that more than a handful of undeserving brown refugees would get the white refugee treatment.

Guaranteed expect for the brown refugees this time too
