Monthly Neurodiverse Megathread #6! Theme: Fiction and Non-Fiction Books

Hello neurodivergent comrades and allied neurotypical comrades! This month's megathread is all about books, both fiction and non-fiction, so feel free to talk your favorite novels, interesting and informative retellings of history, deep dives into leftist theory, and anything else book related.

If you can't think of anything to talk about then here's some questions to consider:

  • What genres of fiction and/or non-fiction do you like and why?
  • What genres of fiction and/or non-fiction do you dislike and why?
  • Do you dislike fiction and/or non-fiction in general and why?
  • How does your neurodivergence effect your relationship to reading in general?

Or feel free to completely ignore the theme and post what you want! We’re just happy to have you!

  • So I haven't read any novels in quite a while, but I have read from plenty of physics textbooks over the past couple years. And this might be weird as someone with ADHD, but I think one of the biggest problems with textbooks is that they often don't have enough information in them. On the one hand, having more material to go through can be annoying, but a lot of times I find I find myself wishing their were more examples and problems in textbooks. (Feel like I have more to add, but idk exactly what else I want to say, so I'm just going to end it here. If I think of something to add I'll probably edit it in.)
