Whether he wins or loses, I still cannot fathom how a candidate like this can poll 45%+ in a country purporting to be a modern democracy.
If you talk to people, there’s a subset of people who throw their hands up and say they can’t vote Democrat so it has to be trump. Most of the time when I ask what’s so bad, you know where they land? Trans. It’s a bigger rallying point than you probably think it is. .
More though, they parrot whatever the pundits tell them is reality because that’s the quick fix. And, if your friends won’t like you any more, you tend to stick with the social narrative that keeps your friends close. Which further reinforces the low effort, I did my research by listening to this pundit, and now I’ll say what all my friends are saying because it’s true. Ben Shapiro said so.
.
Remember, republicans are usually very United. Whereas liberals usually are not. Actually doing real research, or not, has something to do with it. And the Rs will blind follow to create a win while Ds will absolutely spin off on single issues and create losses. There are pros and cons re outcome to each approach.
It makes plenty of sense when you realize I have been voting in elections for over 20 years and have never been polled. There are people who answer polls and people who don't. Poll workers go after people who are likely to answer. That's why polls are so skewed.
It’s quite simple, they believe they’re the good guys and they’re unfathomably stupid. They’re the kind of people who aren’t smart enough to fix anything so their solutions always start with clunky eradication of whatever’s bothering them and that’s easier when they pretend that what they’re getting rid of is bad for whatever reason.
I'm forced to agree. The United States deserves to fade away into the sunset. Even if the discourse is 100 percent caused by Russia 45% of us are buying it because we are fucking inbred retards.
Look at the media they are addicted to. Fox News is peak, lowest common denominator, outrage heroin for these people. It riles them up, gives them a Boogeyman to hate and set their ways as the right ways. Dabble in some good ole Christian references and you've got yourself an already gullible, willing crowd. Then you also get the regular always unhappy people on your side. That asshole that just wants a dingleberry of authority to use to ruin your day.
There are so many willing asshats in this country for this not to happen
.. and that's just one form of delivery.
We're fucking done man.
It’s depressing and dumbfounding. And it all goes back to the propaganda.
Growing up, I always wondered how 1930’s Germany could look at Hitler & the Nazi’s and think “Yeah, this looks like a good guy.” I also used to think it could never happen in the United States.
Fast forward to today, it really feels like Trump has (1) one, given me a front row seat understanding how how it happened and (2) proven to me that, yes, it really can happen in the US.
It’s really easy to write all of his supporters off as being blatantly evil (many are - the Nazi Flag waving at the Florida boat rally is an example) but just as many are simply blind to Trump’s evil. They’ve succumbed to decades of powerful propaganda and think that anyone - even Donald Trump - is better than a Democrat.
It’s stupid, exhausting, and defies logic, but it’s what they believe.
