Just let Dexter die already. He's not Jason Voorhees. He doesn't have the immoral certainly of Jason. He's wishy-washy. Let him die.

I always wanted to see Dexter end the series by killing himself.
He should end up in a situation where his sister find out about him and ends up on the table and he's about to kill her when he realizes he's become the monster fully that he always fought against.
Then he does what he always does when he finds a killer like that... He kills himself.
Wouldn't really make sense considering he has always fully understood and acknowledged that he's just like the people he kills.
Yeah, but it is different acknowledging being on the same level as other serial killers and becoming a source of harm to a loved one.
Have him start to go through the motions, hit a moment of clarity where he realizes what a danger he is to his loved ones, then instead of killing her he kills himself.
Just go be a writer already 👏
Yeah! They should write Dexter season 13!
Or end the show like in Book 7. Rita is killed by someone and Dexter is arrested for the one murder he did not commit.
