Wait so like...I really like lambics...the sweet fruit beer that's fermented in open barrels by wild yeast.
Can I harvest wild yeast from decaying fruit to ferment alcohol and make my own lambics at home???
Technically, probably? But home-brewing is a complex art.
It's surprisingly simple to get acceptable results. Good results take more trial and error as well as research. Lambics are equal parts art and horrifying lab microbiologists.
The white film on grapes is yeast. So you could even just throw some non-decaying grapes in mashed or whole to kick off the fermentation
yes, you too can brew lambics
