Lipitor

My doctor prescribed me lipitor (well the generic equivalent) for high cholesterol. It feels that im just at the level where he would prescribe it and I told him Im not sure I want to take it. Im looking over side effects and that even more makes me think forget this. That being said I know that most medicines have side effects and not everyone gets them but heck the ones that are more than 1 in 100 seem annoying enough. Anyway im not looking for advice so much as experiences people have had with it or someone they know you have taken it.

I got that diagnosis (high cholesterol) about 10 years ago. I decided to instead try going on a plant-based diet for a few years. That pretty quickly took my bad cholesterol level away down. I've been on a vegetarian diet now (that's pretty heavy on fairly) for several years, and even though my cholesterol level has gone up a bit, it's still not that close to where it was before.
This situation won't work for everyone, for various reasons. But from my experience it's been a feasible alternative, at least in the mid-term. So I thought I'd mention it.
