Zinc really is excellent sunblock. Makes you look like a doofus and it gets absolutely everywhere, but you aren't sunburnt.
- We have micronised Zinc now, which blocks the sun exactly as well, but doesn’t make you look like V for Vendetta !
  
  But it wears off. I can say that after a day of sailing with normal sunblock versus a day sailing with diaper cream you will notice a difference.
  
  I will notice many, many differences after a day of sailing regardless
