You can! I registered my first account on ml, and moved to sdf, with a third on world as a backup. You can open one on every instance if you want, or more as individual instance rules permit.

Yes. You're basically making a separate account on different servers, run by different people, which then share their content.

Yep. I have a backup on futurology.today. Although, I should check where it's hosted - I don't want to be fully in the US.
They're each run by a totally different organisation, so the only rules are the actual, IRL laws.
