  • Jesus u guys have a fucked minimum wage.

    • Yep!

Though, I do wanna say, it's not impossible to live off of minimum wage. If you have a roommate for a small apartment. Live debt-free, eat very cheaply (beans and rice, rice and beans baaaby!), and be careful with your finances and time, it's possible.

      It sucks, but it's possible.

Not so possible if you want latest phone, latest x-box, pokemon cards, go to bars on weekend, nice car, and eating out all the time.

But if you find a good roommate and/or gf. Share expenses and live cheap, it's doable. BUT DO NOT HAVE KIDS IF YOU ARE ONLY WORKING MINIMUM WAGE JOB! That's a straight path to poverty. I love kids, but I see way too many people having kids while they are working some min wage job. That's just foolish.

Source: I lived off of minimum wage for a long time. Live debt-free, lived cheaply, and got by. Also ended up saving up for my own (small) house, went to college part-time (paying as I went and used grants/scholarships), and was able to slide into a still low-paying state job. Highest wage I've ever had was $18-an-hour. And was able to retire a few months ago at age 55. :)
