I have trouble imagining ever being proud of being a communist. It's right up there with all the bad things in society.

It's a stupid question because you obviously and constantly encounter communism or because your conviction is stronger than your argument?
What's to argue? We've seen what communism does, it's a closed fucking case unless you are willfully ignorant to reality.
I suppose you are talking about that mythical perfection of communism that can never exist so long as humans remain unchanged.
I'm as willing to argue this as I am to argue against a flat earther. Both are pointless and arguing against it only validates something false.
So find someone less wise to argue with, because I'm bluntly, too fucking smart to fall for either trap.
