I've tried hard to get into this podcast, but in the end I just couldn't (lasted about 20 episodes).
This is coming from someone who does an annual rewatch of all the trek series.
Mcneil just sounds permanently bored with it, and Wang tries very hard to sell it but just gives off car salesman vibes the whole time.
It feels soul-less and unenthusiastic, a product they're selling, with A LOT of content locked behind a "paywall".
Real shame. Harry and Tom were my some of my favorite Voyager characters.
Here's hoping Shimerman and Farrel can improve the quality and feel.
I was planning on starting a rewatch while listening to the podcast and this disheartens me a bit. Still going to try but I can't say I'm as quite excited as I was before.
You should try Star Trek The Next Conversation. It's very long and haphazard in its execution, but it's entertaining; it's don't by people who are fans of Star Trek who also work in TV.
They made it through TNG, and are working on DS9. They're also going through Voyager, Enterprise, Disco, Strange New Worls, and a bunch of Marvel movies on their patreon.
And , as far as I can tell, there's no ads.
I love it. And to get the full podcas is like $3 a month witch I gladly pay. It’s full of behind the scene stories and interviews and stuff like that.
