I live in Central Florida, and the traffic is horrible. I travel the East Coast for work, and it is literally the worst traffic on the East Coast. The only thing that compares is the DC/Baltimore rush hour. So I've been pretty amazed this summer that routes in town that often take 2 hours or more, are taking less than an hour. We have a Hispanic population in this area of about 40%, and I believe that a lot of them are staying off the roads as much as possible. I also believe they are advising their teenagers to stay at home, and not go out cruising, a time-honored teen activity. If a teen gets picked up for a traffic infraction, it could lead to their entire family being sent back to some Central American country. I'm sorry these people are so scared that they have to hide, but at least traffic has improved.
